Violet Richardson Award

Are you a young woman who volunteers in your community or school?  Who sees challenges instead of obstacles?  Hope instead of despair?  Then you may meet the eligibility requirements for this award.

  • Are you 14 to 17 years old?
  • Have you demonstrated initiative in both identifying a problem and trying to solve it?
  • Have you had significant and noteworthy accomplishments as volunteers?

The Soroptimist Club of Eugene awards one Violet Richardson Award each year.  At this level the recipient receives $500 and the her volunteer organization receives $250.  Club level winners then become eligible for one of 28 $1000 awards; and, in addition, $1000 will go to her volunteer organization.  One finalist will be chosen from the 28 winners for an additional award.

Women’s Opportunity Award

If you are a woman who provides the primary financial support for her family, and who is enrolled or accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program, you may be eligible for this award.  This award is given to help women improve their education, skills, and employment prospects.

The Soroptimist Club of Eugene will be awarding two Women’s Opportunity Awards this year of $1500 each.  Award recipients will be eligible for a regional award of $5000, and the regional winner then becomes eligible to receive one of three $10,000 finalist awards.

Soroptimist  is helping women reclaim their dreams.  If you’re eligible, be sure to apply for this award. You will need both forms.
